Basic Setup

This will guide you through how to setup the basic features of SnailBot. This does not cover more advanced features. You can find those on the Advanced Setup page.

Automated Posting of News

Setup has drastically changed since Major Update 3. Instead of one command, you will now be guided through a process when you run the +enablefeed command. You will then specify either warthunder, crossout, enlisted or steam as your feed choice. We observed that the previous system was confusing for some users. We hope this new system will help clarify the process.

If you choose warthunder, crossout or enlisted: You will be given a choice of which channel(s) you want SnailBot to post in. The first choice will specify which channel devblogs and general news should go to. The second choice will specify which channel changelogs should go to. Tag a channel in order to specify it. (ex: #channel) After this is done, you will then be asked if you want Role mentions to be enabled. If you wish SnailBot to @ a role whenever something new posted, you can specify which role by tagging it. (ex: @RoleName) If you do not wish to have Role Mentions, enter no.

If you choose steam: You will be asked the ID of the game you wish to enable the feed for. You can find this on your game's product page on the Steam store in the link. (For example, TF2's ID is 774511.) The setup process will then ask which channel you want SnailBot to post in.

Likewise, if you wish to disable the news feed, you can run +disablefeed

To see which feeds are enabled, you can run +listfeed
