Advanced Setup

This will guide you through how to setup the more advanced features of SnailBot. This does not cover news feed commands. For that, you should go read First Time Setup.

Creating and configuring a Poll

Along with having the latest up-to-date news from War Thunder and your other favorite games, you can now host a poll with custom settings! Below is a tutorial on how to set it up.

Creating the poll

1. Go into a channel that SnailBot is present in, and type out the following command:

   1. +poll

2. The bot will begin the setup process automatically. Simply reply with what it asks and go through the process. Near the end, you will be presented with an option to choose which channel post the poll in. Once a channel is given, the poll will begin in the specified channel with the specified amount of time given.

3. Done!

Using the poll

Once a poll is created, users can vote on the poll by reacting to the messages with the reactions you set. We suggest placing the poll in a channel where users cannot add their own reactions to reduce spam. However, this will not affect the outcome of the poll if users add their own.

Creating a Custom Embed

For those of you who know a bit of Discord, you may know about rich embeds and embeds. SnailBot can create custom embeds for your own need, whether it's for a tutorial (like we have had on our Discord) or something else, we are sure this will be of use for you.

Creating the embed

1. Go into a channel that SnailBot is present in, and type out the following command:

   1. +customcommands new <name>

2. The bot will begin the setup process automatically. Simply reply with what it asks and go through the process. For this specific feature, you would want to type in embed for the first question. Please note that in order to create an embed, you must know the rich embed structure. Take a look at this image for a visual example.

3. Done!

Displaying the embed

Run the command you setup for this, and it will show the embed you created.

Editing / Deleting the embed

• +customcommands delete <name> - Delete a given custom command / embed

• +customcommands edit <name> - Edit a given custom command / embed

• +customcommands list - Lists all custom commands / embeds

Creating a Custom Command

If you would like to create a custom command which displays given text / information, then this is the one for you!

Creating the command

1. Go into a channel that SnailBot is present in, and type out the following command:

3. Done!

Run the command you setup for this, and it will show the text you input.
